Dolcymerau is a single story French style converted barn tucked away in a peaceful courtyard setting beside open fields and enchanting woodlands in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park. Furnished in an eclectic style you can relax in Dolcymerau's huge lounge enjoying its large comfortable sofas, feature high ceilings, exposed beams and polished floors.
Dolcymerau easily sleeps eight people, with five Bedrooms including two double rooms, one twin and two single rooms, one of which is a walk through; extra pull out beds and a cot are available if needed.
You'll also find a large fully fitted kitchen, modern appliances, Sky Digital TV, DVD/VCR, CD music centre and dining table seating eight; central heating plus additional storage heaters to keep you snug in the winter while the gardens around the property offer a beautiful setting for alfresco dining in the warm summer months.
Dolcymerau is set at the entrance to two enchanting valleys; Cwm Bychan, with its tranquil lake leads to the Roman Steps, a Roman paved packhorse way and Cwm Nantcol, a rise in the peaks of Rhinog Fawr and Rhinog Fach. Lots of gentle rambles and woodland walks begin just above the cottage - the waterfall and nature trail is very special and there are fabulous views from the plateau above the waterfall across to Shell Island, Tremadog Bay and Lleyn Peninsula.
Harlech, dominated by its medieval castle overlooking the sea, is framed by the Rhinog Mountains. It' s long golden sweeping beach has sheltered bathing, and there are steep winding streets with traditional Welsh architecture, good restaurants, pubs and interesting shops to explore. Why not enjoy a night out at Theatre Ardudwy which hosts an impressive program of films, exhibitions, concerts and plays throughout the year.
For beach lovers there are lots of lovely completely un-spoilt beaches to discover including Shell Island (lots of interesting shells to collect) and Llandanwg with its Celtic Church hidden in the dunes.
Golfers will enjoy Harlech' s Royal St Davids Link Golf Course, for fishermen there is river, stream and lake fishing and the Children' s Farm Park and Slate Caverns is a working farm where baby animals can be fed and old mine workings to explore.
